In our civilization, and under our republican form of government, intelligence

is so highly honored that it is rewarded by exemption from the cares of office.

Election 2004 Observations #1

Well, it has been much too long since my last post and much has happened. The UN and the major media tried to affect the outcome of the election (and nearly succeeded). The Case of the Missing Munitions was the Left's real October Surprise. Fortunately, the Left stupidly pushed the same-sex marriage issue in this election. Let's face it, most Americans will not accept changing the definition of marriage. How can I say this? Everytime the People have been able to vote on the issue, they have rejected redefining marriage. This election was no different. What the same-sex marriage issue did was to energize the Republican base. In addition, the same-sex marriage issue is not a strictly partisan issue. Eleven of eleven states refused to change the definition of marriage. Two of the 11 states that voted on the issue, Michigan and Oregon, went to Kerry. That means a significant number of Democrats had to vote against the measures. The Democrats aren't as "tolerant" as they would have us believe.

And another thing: The Left has succeeded in imposing their label, "Ban on same-sex marriage" in the public debate. Something cannot be "banned" unless it first exists. What the left wants is to change the definition of marriage to include something it has never included.

Moving along . . .

Late last night, George Snuffleupagus of ABC News, said that he expects the Democrat party to go through a power struggle sometime between now and the end of the year. He said the traditional liberals in the party will vie with the hard Left that has been running the party in recent years. I think he's right.
