is so highly honored that it is rewarded by exemption from the cares of office.

With 67% of Precincts Reporting . . .

Since two of my three readers have weighed in, I have started posting on The Impudent Finger. However, I have (obviously) not stopped posting here. It's so hard to cut those apron strings. So, if I'm running two blogs, does that mean I'll blog twice as infrequently?

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Yours truly, Sola-man, has been on hiatus over the Thanksgiving weekend. As a result, I have been actually absent from the blogosphere (as opposed to virtually invisible on the blogosphere -- apologies to my three readers. Your checks will be mailed out on Wednesday.) *sarcasm*

On to the main subject: I have been contemplating making a change. I am contemplating joining the Blogger protection program and moving next door to The Impudent Finger. I would appreciate your input on this idea. The obvious method of doing so would be to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. HEY! I said THUMBS!!

Make a Difference On the Other Side of the World

Go visit the Spirit of America and check out the good things they are doing for the people of Iraq. If you think this work is important go here to join in the cause and spread the word. Also, don't forget to donate what you can. Your donation is tax deductible. Now, go make a difference.

Belated Remembrance

Memento Moron has a post about a man named Jack who's life ended 40 years ago on November 22, 1963. It may not be about who you think it is about.

Erasing God

The Declaration of Independence and other historical documents from American history have been banned by Patricia Vidmar, the principal of Stevens Creek Elementary School in Cupertino, California. Why have they been banned? The documents contain references to God. Not only that, the teacher who is suing the school district was singled out by the principal because he is a Christian. I suppose if the teacher was an atheist and was using the Declaration as an example of the ignorance and superstitions of the Founding Fathers, Ms. Vidmar would have been very supportive.

If you're wondering why I didn't add a link to the school or the Cupertino Union School District, their URLs mysteriously do not work. Hmmm. I wonder why. In lieu of working URLs, you can contact them the old fashioned way:

Sneak Preview

Mr. Mondocognito brings some more good news by way of Professor Bainbridge. If you just can't wait three weeks, go here and click on the "New Video" link. How does it likes it, my Precious?

Hail Republic!

One of the great things about blogging and reading other blogs is that you occaisionally come across a diamond in the rough. While reading a previously mentioned link at Shock and Blog, I noticed a comment by, Dan Meyers. I went to View of the Republic and found a young conservative blogger who writes passionately about serious issues. When I was his age, I was . . . heck, I don't remember what I was doing, but it wasn't blogging. Keep up the good work Dan!

What Would You Do?

Shock and Blog links to a gut-wrenching story about a brave Marine who did something the rest of us can only wish we would have the courage to do.

Going Around the World for a Scoop

Around The World In 80 Days has a post which sheds some light on Dan Rather's announcement that he will step down from the CBS anchor desk in March 2005. Dan, we 'ardly knew ye!

A Serious Business in Fallujah

Rocketman of Powerline points to a Chicago Trib story which gives a chilling account of what our Marines have uncovered in Fallujah. The part that Mr. Hindrocket highlights in his blog is interesting. I completely agree with his conclusion, but why limit them to two.

The REAL Slick Shady

Former Pres. Bill Clinton has yet to be accused by anyone on the Left of being too close to the Saudis. I guess getting several millions of dollars in Saudi oil money doesn't count as being close.

They're Still Trying, Folks

Just in case you thought that we are safe, this article should change your mind. The Brits recently managed to stop an al-Qaeda attack on their country. We cannot afford to pretend it can't happen here . . . again.

Goo Goo G' Joob

The next Super Bowl should be a more family friendly event. The erstwhile Beatle and music legend Paul McCartney will be the half-time entertainment this time around. I doubt Mr. McCartney will "accidentally" expose any body parts.

B. S. Poetry

That's Britney Spears poetry. Although one would be justified in asking, "What's the diff?"

I have never been very impressed with the so-called talent of Ms. Spears. Some may disagree, but I think that if she had decided not to play to the hormone-overloaded teen crowd (with a much smaller pedophile demographic thrown in for good measure) she would be waiting tables at a Dennys. But, for the moment, let's say I'm wrong. Maybe she does have talent.

Unfortunately, B.S.'s Honeymoon Poem does not support that very generous assumption.

If you are of weak constitution, prone to sudden gagging fits, or have any amount of self respect, do not read any further. This is your final warning.

Honeymoon Poem

11.10.2004

A honeymoon at last, to get away from it all
My assistant Fe gave me the call.

I remember it well, as she was smilin'
She said it was called Turtle Island.

I packed my bags light and quick,
Then grabbed my pink dress & favorite lipstick.

We hopped on a plane and took our flight
I slept really well, all through the night.

As we arrive, I turn and look out the door,
People are greeting us right at the shore.

A meal, a shower and some ice cream
Then I threw my man down, you know what I mean!

Magical nights filled with stars
Silence is golden, no running cars.

Private dinners, romantic fires
Little piece of heaven, whatever your heart desires.

Friendly "hellos" and never goodbyes
When you're having fun, oh, how time flies!

As we sit and prepare to make our part
I thank you, Turtle Island, with all my heart!

~ Britney

I warned you. Now go get a bucket of warm soapy water and clean it up. Next time, just take my word for it.

Yasser Arafat, B. I. H.

Until now I have tried to avoid bringing up the death of the originator of modern Terrorism, Yasser Arafat. However, after so many glowing eulogies from the Left-stream Media and Jack Chiraq (sic), I just had to link to this article. Arafat was responsible for the death of an old man in a wheel chair, eleven Olympic athletes in Munich and two American diplomats in Sudan. (Interestingly, the diplomats were kidnapped in order to gain the release of Sirhan Sirhan who assassinated Robert Kennedy.) These are, of course, only some of the murderous acts committed by the notorious Mr. Arafat. Read the article linked above. This was a man who deserved to B. I. H.

The Incredible Shrinking Party

For the first time since the Civil War, the Dems are talking seriously about Secession. As Tony Blankley points out, it's not just the average Looney Lefty. This is coming from establishment Dems. How the high and mighty have fallen -- head first into the Fever Swamp. They are apparently so caught up in their rage and hatred of the President that they don't realize (or care?) that they are acting like spoiled brats instead of a major political party. Rather than focus on what they need to do to appeal to more voters, they throw a temper tantrum and threaten to take their ball and go home. It's not only pathetic -- it's sad.

O Canada . . .

Reuters reports that there is an increase interest by American Lefties in moving to the Socialist Utopia of Canada now that President Bush has been re-elected. Perhaps they'll all pack up their copies of Das Kapital in a handkerchief, tie it on the end of a stick and run away from home. The only question I have is, what can I do to help them? This is one issue I would gladly reach across the aisle and work with them on.

Let's hope that this is the beginning of closure for his family.

Election 2004 Observations #1

Well, it has been much too long since my last post and much has happened. The UN and the major media tried to affect the outcome of the election (and nearly succeeded). The Case of the Missing Munitions was the Left's real October Surprise. Fortunately, the Left stupidly pushed the same-sex marriage issue in this election. Let's face it, most Americans will not accept changing the definition of marriage. How can I say this? Everytime the People have been able to vote on the issue, they have rejected redefining marriage. This election was no different. What the same-sex marriage issue did was to energize the Republican base. In addition, the same-sex marriage issue is not a strictly partisan issue. Eleven of eleven states refused to change the definition of marriage. Two of the 11 states that voted on the issue, Michigan and Oregon, went to Kerry. That means a significant number of Democrats had to vote against the measures. The Democrats aren't as "tolerant" as they would have us believe.

And another thing: The Left has succeeded in imposing their label, "Ban on same-sex marriage" in the public debate. Something cannot be "banned" unless it first exists. What the left wants is to change the definition of marriage to include something it has never included.

Moving along . . .

Late last night, George Snuffleupagus of ABC News, said that he expects the Democrat party to go through a power struggle sometime between now and the end of the year. He said the traditional liberals in the party will vie with the hard Left that has been running the party in recent years. I think he's right.
